We went to California for Kira's wedding, but we stayed at 'Casa de la Smith". It was great for the boys to have some time with their grandparents. I'm always happy going back to my hometown.
Savai'i was so happy to be done with the driving (me too!) and he loved the toys
Grandma Smith had waiting for him.
The next morning I took the boys to visit Grandma Smith at her school (my old elementary)
Tai wanted to ride the coyote in the front office.
Grandma's classroom wasv decorated with a Western theme and both boys wanted to be cowboys.
After Grandpa Smith got home from work it was time to get in the pool!
This was going to be Vai's first time swimming! Doesn't he look so excited?
Kai and Tai didn't waste any time getting in the water. I had to call after them to try and get a picture.
There goes our little fish Kai.
Here he goes for his first dip...
He's not sure he likes the temperature of this water.
Ok, Dad I've had enough
David let Vai get a nice feel for the water and Tai thought he should supervise.
Savai'i was not happy at all at this point of the introduction so we tried a different strategy.
Here he is sitting with his mommy and he's much happier. I took him out into open water which he seemed to enjoy even more. Then David took him back so I could take more pictures.
At this point I tell David to dunk him in the water.
Step 1: Blow on his face so he holds his breath.
Step 2: dunk him all the way under the water.
Step 3: Bing him out of the water and cheer!
Step 4: Hold him close and let him know he's ok.
Tai loves his swimming vest and is fearless in the pool
Kai wouldn't stay still for pictures. I caught him as he was clearing his hair out of his eyes.
So he jumps again...
...and splashes David and Vai.
Next we decided to test out Savai'i in the baby pool seat.
I think he liked it. He isn't smiling, but he's bubbling and that's close enough.
Remember what I said about Tai being fearless?
Well here he goes...
He takes a Superman leap...
...check out how much air he caught...
...lands like a starfish.
"I did it Mom!"
Savai'i enjoyed the pool more the longer he was in the water.
Grandpa was grilling up some dinner and the boys were entertaining Grandma...
or was it the other way around?
Later we had some more family come and visit..
Here is my Grandma Preston holdin her great grandson for the first time.
Grandpa Preston was getting big smiles out of Savai'i.
My boys love spending time at their grandparents' house. Whether they're taking a nap...
...waving their feet in the air....
...or going on a safari adventure...
...with their flashlights of course!
Grandpa Smith and Tai doing puzzles.
Grandma Smith getting her cuddles in with Vai...
...and with Kai too!
Savai'i loved playing with the fun baby toy (it's been used by all the grandsons so far...)
Kai and Tai getting their color on! Grandma had bought them new crayons!
Savai'i hanging out with Grandpa Smith.
I even chose to relax and do some coloring too!
One last pool adventure on Saturday morning with Grandpa Smith!
Uh oh! Looks like someone spilled some soap in there ;)
Kai and Tai were loving it!
Kai coming up to catch his breath covered in bubbles haha
Tai scooping up the bubbles to play with
Kai enjoying his "bubble bath"
Bubbles with Grandpa are so much fun!
Savai'i taking one last nap on Grandma's couch.
Some comic relief from David.
Savai'i was a bright ray of sunshine the next morning.
The boys were happy to enjoy their complimentary breakfast before the long drive back to Utah.

Future parents Brittany and Michael enjoyed their time with Savai'i as well :)

Grandma Smith took Kai and Tai to a birthday party while
I was doing wedding stuff and boy, did they have fun!
Kai as Buzz Lightyear
Tai as Woody
Grandma Smith also took the boys shopping where she spoiled them with candy, toys, ice cream, and their very own fish to swim in her fish tank. Kai and Tai were beyond happy! We had a late night drive to Las Vegas. The boys were sad to leave Grandma and Grandpa Smith. We managed to get the boys into pajamas before they passed out together in the hotel bed. The next morning Tai kept asking hen we were going back :)
My post-wedding hair. Some comic relief from David.

Your family is so cute Jessie! And I'm so jealous. I miss your parents and the turtle pool! :)
