What are you going to be on Halloween night?

Kai has been singing this song nonstop. I love it! TJ has even learned the words and sings it too. I love music in the family! Getting into the Halloween spirit has been easy this year and we have been busy having fun.
Friday was the Halloween-themed Kaizen fair at David's work.
The boys had a lot of fun!
The Doctor.
Iron Man.
We ate pizza, got treat bags, faces painted...
...balloon animals, and coloring pages.
Lion for TJ (of course) and a Dragon for Kai.
We also got to see some really good friends.
It's Libby!
Saturday we trick or treated down Main Street in Spanish Fork.
We went with our good friends and neighbors the Youngs!
Kai and Kyson are both 4 and best buds.
Daxton is a bit older than TJ but they still love to play together.
Ryker is just the cutest little bear!
There were quite a few people out for the day. I love Kai's face in this picture.
The boys loved getting candy from the firefighters! Everyone se was fun too but they only gave the firefighters high fives :)
We had a great time with our dragon, Iron Man, bear, lion, and The Doctor.

We finally carved our pumpkins on Monday night. It took some time and goop but we got them done!
First to gut them.
David helped TJ with his "ittle kunkin".
Coloring takes serious concentration.
Little Jack Skellington
Kai wanted a Doctor Who pumpkin.
I tried my best to carve out the TARDIS
All done cutting (looks messy)
Light it up! (Do do do... Do do do...)
I went for a scary face
My jack I lantern is a preview of my costume
Ooo... Scary!

Tuesday night we had cookies to decorate for Kai's class Halloween party. Let the mess making begin!
Kai likes a lot of frosting.
TJ was limited to minimalize the mess
Mom was having fun too
One sprinkle at a time. Seriously TJ is a perfectionist.
Lots of sprinkles for this kid.
"Mom! Take a picture of me eating a sprinkle." Umm... Ok! :)

More posts of our family's Halloween festivities to come. We love this time of year!

Oh Monday...

So this morning was rough. First, I have a hard time waking up from a drug induced sleep, but David insisted that I take my doctor-prescribed Codeine before bed. So being a good little wife I did. (Plus, I'm sick of being sick just as much as he is sick if having a wife that's sick.) Well, forgetful wife that I am, I didn't plug in my phone to charge before I fell asleep and it died. So I didn't remember about my boys having a dentist appointment at 9:15 until 9:25. Yeah... Luckily, both boys were awake and eating breakfast. I called the office and they said if we got there by 9:45 we wouldn't have to reschedule. It was a whirlwind of clothes, shoes, toothbrushes, and toothpaste then we were out the door. Mom was in her running clothes (just wishful thinking). Of course with the rushing around I forgot the dental insurance card which is necessary for all that fun paperwork. Luckily by then my phone had just enough juice to text David for necessary info (Dad saves the day again).
Now, it was TJs first dentist appointment and normally I am much better at documenting milestones but TJ wanted to hold my hand the WHOLE time. Kai was great (they have a screen in the ceiling so you can watch movies or play video games while they clean your teeth) but TJ needed a lot of coaching from Mom to get through the cleaning and check up. There was also a dirty diaper to change and (I'm not kidding) a full on sibling screaming-and-running-over-a-toy-train battle throughout the dentist office. Insert embarrassed mommy face here. After all was said and done there were NO cavities for either boy (Yipee!) so they got free ice cream coupons and a token for the horse ride in front of the dentist office.
Kai had a very studious face. He's a serious cowboy.
I think TJ is trying to hide his teeth or he just has an adorably cute face.
Well after the screaming match I decided they had to earn their ice cream by going on a run with mom. It may not have been a very effective workout for me but it was beautiful! Plus, we managed to have some fun. I basically ran circles around Kai pushing TJ in the stroller up and down the trail. We went to the other end of the river in Spanish Fork down by the sports complex.
The trees were full of vibrant color and there weren't a lot of other people out so I wasn't looking silly running in circles in front of others.
As you can see Kai can be neglectful of his stroller duties at times but I was always close by to help out.
Kai did find this awesome stick for TJ which kept the stroller-bound toddler entertained.
We had fun walking down the trail and exploring around the park.
It really was a gorgeous run.
And I did run. See the sweat?
I let the boys play at the park after as a thank you for running with me (we did about 2.5 miles). I also joined in the fun climbing on the rock walls and swinging in the monkey bars. (I know I'm a crazy mom).
After all that fun I decided it was a good time to get their free ice cream at Sonic. It was lunch time so obviously I had to feed them as well. They loved their corn dogs and Scooby-Doo toys. The ice cream was shared (willingly) with Mom so I was happy too. I love my crazy, fun boys!
