First Day of School

Kai had his first day of his second year of preschool. He has been waiting for this day since the end of may when preschool ended. He loves going to preschool and he loves his teacher Mrs. Heap. He is so happy to have friends in his class and is excited to go 3 days a week instead of just two. I wasn't too sad about him going but I do feel the time slipping through my fingers like sand. So I wanted to capture the moments I could and cherish them. Kai is such a big boy now but he's still my baby.

Also, I should add that a year ago on his first day of his first year it was on a day I worked and I couldn't be there. It broke my heart. So this was a healing experience for me. He has learned and grown so much over the last 12 months he blows me away. I admit I get exasperated with his why questions from time to time but I love his natural curiosity. I hope I can help nurture his love for learning. He can be so sweet and he loves to make friends. I want him to maintain his innocent confidence and always befriend others. He is such a little stud!

Getting ready to go in the morning.

TJ wanted to be a part of the actin. His face here is priceless!

Kai is excited and ready to go!

 Here starts my step-by-step shots.
Step 1: Get out of the car.

Step 2: Look at your mama like she's crazy because she is following you wither camera.

Step 3: Hug your brother good-bye.

(Awwww! My heart melts at the love these two share.)

Step 4: Adjust shorts before walking in.

Step 5: Wave good-bye to your mom :)

I followed him in since it was the first day and had to capture this moment with his teacher Mrs. Heap. He loves her! He wrote his letters and numbers just for her so he could show her he remembered. So sweet!

First project on the first day.

At the end of class I wanted to get one more shot of him in front of his daycare.

Making a funny face as he poses with his name art.

I posted this one because I think he looks exactly like his Uncle Enoch in this shot.

My silly boy Kai running to the car at the end of the day (he looked both ways first).

And a year goes by...

I haven't updated this blog in a very long time. I have been mostly posting on Facebook. However, I have decided that isn't enough and at the same time too much. It's not enough to share a story and I post so much stuff there that it gets overwhelming. So I have decided I need to revive the family blog. Thankfully the app on my iPad means I can do this at almost anytime from almost anywhere. I don't think there is a way to sum up all the time I haven't covered. If you want to fill in the gaps feel free to browse my Facebook. I'm just going to start from this point and move forward. I can't promise frequency or consistency, but I can promise it will be fantastic! :)

In the Midst of the Month of May

May is the longest month of the year for me. After Spring Break, but before Summer time just seems to drag and drag. I try to survive the time and guard my sanity. Here are some shots on what I do to keep my focus on the positive things in life. I do love teaching, I just don't love teaching students during the last few weeks of school when they are all crazy people! I will enjoy my summer and then be happy to go back come the end of August...maybe... I will definitely LOVE the summertime!

Climbing at the Quarry

We love climbing! The Quarry is one of our favorite places. Especially on Monday nights. They have a great deal for FHE and we take the boys with us. It can get a little chaotic but we always have fun.

Tai Jimmer likes to hang out with family and he likes to get in on the action too. He has a good grip holding on with his hands. However, he doesn't keep his feet firmly planted so he just hangs there.

Kai loves to climb too, but this is about as high as he will go on the rope wall. He isn't a fan of the harness. He prefers to free climb on the kid wall upstairs.

This wall he can get to the top all on his own. He is very happy to be at the top, but ready to get down.

Bandit and Da Fresh are awesome climbers. Bandit is like a spider monkey and Steph's got mad skills!

Jesi loves to climb, but isn't the fastest or strongest. It is still a great work out and I have a great time.

David has massive muscles and does a great job scaling the wall. He is the go to guy on belay too.

Elise does a great job! She has long arms and legs that help her reach holds and she doesn't give up!

Mike likes a good challenge and he conquers quite a few of them on the Quarry walls.

The Fiso family has a lot of fun together. We like to stay active and enjoy ourselves at the same time. We will continue to climb and there will be more adventures waiting for us in the gym and on the rock.
